Why did I change my name?
Hey everyone.
This is the first blog post on the new website and I suppose I should address the elephant in the room and that is my username.
Back when I started playing World of Warcraft, I was playing a Fire Mage called “Crakila” because I didn’t want to use my real name and VampiricPadraig wasn’t a ‘troll mage’ name.
Over the course of the next couple of years that I was playing WoW, I remember having my ‘Friend Code’ or ‘Battletag’ or whatever term they used and it was always “Crakila#2745”.
Whenever the Battle.net client came out in 2013, I believe I was asked to choose name and I chose “Crakila” as it was my first character in WoW, and thus it would have been easier to remember.
Over the course of the next couple of years, I would dip in and out of WoW and testing the then-new Hearthstone game and then eventually started to play Overwatch where I sank a lot of time into (And in some cases still do sink a lot of time into the game)
Also in 2013, a little game by the name of Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn was in beta after their disastrous 2010 launch and I decided to use the name “Crakila Fors’ee” and it became my most played game since 2013….But everything outside of it was still referred to as “VampiricPadraig”
Then I was thinking a few weeks ago that my name “VampiricPadraig” was hard for people to remember or spell, so I though changing the name to simply “Crakila” would be sufficient. And at the same time, I am planning to move to a new apartment (Still packing as we speak) and it would be a new start for me…New flat, new office, new online presence and I am committing myself to stream myself playing games more often.
So, while I do not have a plan of action quite yet… Once I get settled into the new apartment, I will be able to have a definitive schedule and be able to be able to stream more.
🙂
